Cherry Pie Makes one to three servings: 1 large white cake batter 2-3 large eggs 1/2 cup milk 1 cup sugar 4 large strawberries (about 6) 3-4 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1-1/4 cups butter 1 cup heavy cream 2 tablespoons lemon extract Salt and pepper (to taste) Combine the cake batter and eggs into a small bowl. Pour in the milk and sugar until the batter turns thick. Add the remaining ingredients, then whisk in the flour, baking soda and butter. Beat until light and fluffy and just combined.

Fill an 11" round cake tin and put half of the cake batter into it. Top with the rest and bake for 20-25 minutes until a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean. Cool and frost with lemon extract to taste. Boil your fruit cake in 2 tablespoons milk. Then, cover with another layer of the batter. Baking in a pan on the lowest setting will keep these from rising in the pan when cooled. They will not hard as they are baked. Cakes are also very easy to frost with lemon and sugar.

Frosting Makes one to three servings: 1/4 cup unsalted butter 1 1/4 cup icing sugar 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1 1/2 cups powdered milk 1 1/4 teaspoons cream of tartar powder 3 teaspoons instant coffee extract 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 drops lemon zest extract (optional) Blitz some frosting all over the cake before serving!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How do our coffee beans at Choquin Grand Café in Belfast get sourced and what is the roasting process?

Our coffee beans at Choquin Grand Cafe in Belfast are sourced from our family-owned farm, Fazenda Choquin, located in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil. The farm has been in our family for four generations. We have built strong relationships with local farmers and suppliers to ensure that we maintain a consistent quality and supply of coffee beans.

The roasting process is a crucial step in bringing out the unique flavors of our coffee beans. We roast our beans in small batches, using a traditional drum-style roaster. The roasting process takes approximately 15 minutes per batch. During this time, the beans are heated to around 400°F (204°C), which causes them to expand and develop their distinct flavors and aromas.

We have perfected our roasting process over many years of experience. Our skilled roasters carefully monitor the temperature and duration of the roast, ensuring that each batch is roasted to perfection. This allows us to maintain consistent quality and flavor in every cup of coffee we serve at Choquin Grand Cafe.

What is the origin of the coffee beans used in our signature espresso blend, and what flavor notes can customers expect from it?

Our signature espresso blend uses coffee beans sourced from South America, specifically from Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. These regions are known for producing high-quality Arabica beans with a balanced and smooth taste. Customers can expect rich and bold flavors with hints of chocolate, caramel, and nuts when enjoying our signature espresso blend.

I remember the day like it was yesterday when my girlfriend and I decided to visit Cafe Nero located at 48-50 Ann St, Belfast BT1 4GE, United Kingdom. We were in need of a nice, quiet place to relax and enjoy some coffee while we chatted about our day. Little did we know that our experience would be far from perfect, leaving us feeling disheartened and disappointed with the level of customer service provided by the establishment.
The moment we walked through the doors of Cafe Nero, we were greeted by a rather rude staff member who seemed to have little interest in providing any form of warmth or hospitality. Their attitude was far from welcoming, and it instantly put us on edge as we tried to find a table for two. We had already spent quite some time walking around the city before deciding to take refuge in this establishment, so their unwelcoming demeanor was particularly off-putting.
As we finally found a seat, we approached one of the staff members to place our order. Once again, we were met with indifference and an overall lack of enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service. It felt as though they were simply going through the motions rather than taking the time to ensure that their guests were well taken care of.
While we waited for our coffee orders, we couldn't help but notice how unclean some of the tables nearby appeared to be. It was clear that the staff had not been diligent in keeping the cafe clean and organized, which further detracted from our experience at Cafe Nero.
When our coffee finally arrived, it was not even close to what we were expecting. The taste was bland and uninspiring, and it was obvious that the barista had not taken the time to properly prepare each cup. We had hoped that the quality of the coffee would make up for the less-than-stellar service, but sadly, this was not the case.
Throughout our stay at Cafe Nero, we were continuously met with a lack of politeness and professionalism from the staff members who worked there. It is truly unfortunate that such an establishment has chosen to prioritize quantity over quality in terms of customer service and overall atmosphere. Politeness matters, even in a bustling cafe like this one.
In conclusion, I can confidently say that Cafe Nero is not worth the effort or money when it comes to finding a pleasant place to enjoy a cup of coffee and unwind with friends or loved ones. The rude staff members, unclean tables, and bland coffee left us feeling incredibly disappointed in our experience there. I would advise anyone who is seeking a truly enjoyable cafe experience to look elsewhere for their next caffeine fix.

While Maximus' review paints a negative picture of Caffè Nero, I believe that the establishment offers much more than just rude staff and mediocre coffee. As someone who has frequented this cafe multiple times, I can attest to the fact that there are several aspects worth highlighting. Firstly, it is important to note that customer service varies from person to person. Just because one's encounter with a particular staff member may have been less than satisfactory, it does not mean that all employees share the same attitude. In my experience, many of the baristas and servers at Caffè Nero are friendly, attentive, and go out of their way to ensure that customers feel welcome. Secondly, while the quality of coffee might not be exceptional in Maximus' opinion, it is worth mentioning that Caffè Nero offers a wide variety of blends and flavors to cater to different palates. There are also several options for those who prefer specialty drinks like lattes or cappuccinos. Additionally, the menu includes food items such as pastries, sandwiches, and salads which can be paired with your coffee to create a more satisfying experience. Moreover, the cafe's ambiance is cozy and inviting, with comfortable seating arrangements and soft lighting creating an ideal space for conversation or solo study sessions. The decor is tasteful and modern without being overwhelming, providing a pleasant backdrop for any occasion. Finally, it would be remiss not to mention Caffè Nero's commitment to sustainability. As part of their corporate responsibility initiative, they have implemented practices like using recyclable cups and straws, offering discounts to customers who bring their own reusable cups, and supporting ethical sourcing of their coffee beans. In conclusion, while Maximus' experience at Caffè Nero may not have been perfect, I believe that there are many positive aspects worth considering. From the variety of food and drink options available to the inviting atmosphere and commitment to sustainability, this cafe has much more to offer than just a mediocre cup of coffee.
