The chocolate cake was made with cocoa powder made by cocoa beans of the country, in his house. He also made the dough by adding the milk to vanilla and sugar.

Wesley started to work at that place and in 1999 started his first restaurant in Odessa called the Chocolate Pudding Cafe. In 1999, Wesley started to serve coffee on Sundays.

Incredible stories heard in Odessa cafes

As always on Wednesday and I take my dog and we go to Fashion Cafe It for a lovely cup of frappe with german chocolate cake. This day I have strange feeling, that something bad is coming to me.

First I was a little confused at the market, but it will pass, I don´t have to buy anything and of course my friends helped me with this. I even forgot my wallet. Ok, everything will be fine. I leave the market, my bike is waiting and I take it to the post.

This year I bought a new battery for the bike, I´m very happy about it. It lasts a lot longer and I have it almost 24 hours and I´m so happy about that.

Then I go to the post and I send money in advance, I need something in the city centre to eat. But all shops were closed for lunch and of course I can´t do anything by bike.

So I go to my friend, that lives in my neighbourhood and we go for a nice coffee. She has a very nice apartment, we have a very big terrasse. It´s really cold when you're biking and of course in the shade of the trees it will be even colder I take my jacket off and I start biking, I´m so happy.

I love to bike and I love to take my dog with me. And you know what? I take long rides as often as I can. Some days you´re lucky and it just blows and there is no wind and the air is great. Some days the wind is like crazy and it´s so hard to ride. But I´m happy to be out on that bike and take my dog with me.

I try to take my dog for bike rides as often as I can, usually I take him 2 or 3 times a week. I´m not sure if he thinks I´ve lost my mind or the wind has given me a brain or whether its just the fact that he wants to come everywhere he goes with me.

I have a lot of stuff in the garage that I want to look at and I´m sure my husband will be curious to know what it´s all about and that´s ok. I may even get to show him something later on, which will make me happy.

If I do want to take my dog I think it´s best if I bring him inside first because he loves to ride in the car too.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the process you follow when preparing a pour-over coffee, and what factors influence your choice of brewing time and water temperature?

To prepare a pour-over coffee, I follow these steps:
1. Start with freshly ground coffee beans for optimal flavor. The grind size should be medium-fine, as it allows water to pass through evenly while still retaining some texture for extraction.
2. Preheat the brewing equipment and cup by pouring hot water over them. This helps maintain the desired temperature during the brewing process.
3. Measure out 15 grams of coffee grounds per every 250 milliliters of water (or adjust according to personal preference). Place the filter paper in the dripper and add the ground coffee.
4. Heat filtered or spring water until it reaches a temperature between 195°F and 205°F (85-96°C). This is ideal for extracting flavor from the coffee grounds without burning them.
5. Begin pouring the hot water in a slow, circular motion over the coffee grounds, starting from the center and moving outwards. Pour enough to saturate all of the grounds evenly. Allow the coffee to "bloom" for about 30 seconds, during which time CO2 will escape, and the grounds will expand slightly.
6. Continue pouring the remaining water in a steady stream, maintaining the same slow pace. The total brewing time should be around 2-4 minutes, depending on your preferred strength and flavor profile.
7. Once all of the water has been poured through the coffee grounds, remove the filter paper and discard the used grounds.
8. Pour the freshly brewed pour-over coffee into your preheated cup and enjoy!
Factors that influence brewing time and water temperature include:
1. Coffee bean variety: Some beans require more extraction time than others due to differences in density, acidity levels, or oil content.
2. Grind size: A finer grind requires a longer brewing time because it takes longer for water to pass through the grounds. Conversely, a coarser grind results in quicker extraction.
3. Desired flavor profile: If you prefer a stronger, bolder coffee, using a slightly lower water temperature and extending the brewing time can help bring out more intense flavors. For a lighter, smoother cup, use higher water temperatures and shorter brewing times.

Question: Can you explain the process of brewing our signature pour-over coffee and highlight any unique flavors or notes that we emphasize during this process?

Of course! Brewing a perfect pour-over coffee involves several steps that not only ensure a smooth, full-bodied taste but also enhance the unique flavors and aromas of our coffee beans. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to brew our signature pour-over coffee:
1. Start with fresh, clean water at a temperature of about 200°F (93°C) – just off the boil.
2. Grind your coffee beans to a medium-fine consistency. The size of the grind is crucial, as it affects the brewing time and extraction process.
3. Preheat your pour-over dripper and cup by rinsing them with hot water. This helps maintain the optimal temperature throughout the brewing process.
4. Place a filter in the pour-over dripper, making sure it's properly positioned to avoid any leakage or uneven extraction. We recommend using a high-quality, bleached or unbleached paper filter that allows for better filtration and minimal contact with the brewing water.
5. Add your freshly ground coffee into the filter – we typically use 1:16 coffee to water ratio, which means one gram of coffee per sixteen grams of water. Adjust this ratio based on personal preferences or experiment with different ratios until you find what works best for you.
6. Start pouring the hot water in a slow, circular motion over the coffee grounds, saturating them evenly. This pre-wetting step helps to bloom the coffee and release any trapped gases, ensuring that the coffee will extract more fully during the brewing process.
7. Continue to pour the remaining water in a steady stream, maintaining a consistent flow rate throughout the brewing process. This ensures that all the grounds are evenly saturated and that the extraction is uniform. The total brewing time should be around 3-4 minutes.
8. As the coffee brews, you'll begin to see a golden brown color developing in the cup below. Once the brewing process is complete, remove the pour-over dripper from the cup and discard the spent coffee grounds.
9. Pour your freshly brewed pour-over coffee into your favorite mug or cup and enjoy!
At our coffee shop, we take great pride in sourcing high-quality beans that are carefully roasted to enhance their unique flavors and aromas. Some of the distinctive notes you may experience when brewing our signature pour-over coffee include:
- A bright, fruity acidity that adds a pleasant tanginess to your cup
- A smooth, well-balanced body that provides a satisfying mouthfeel
- Complex flavor profiles with hints of chocolate, nuts, and spice, depending on the origin and roast level of our coffee beans.
We hope this guide helps you brew a perfect cup of pour-over coffee at home! Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need further assistance.

What is the difference between our Espresso and Americano drinks, and which one would you recommend for someone looking for a strong coffee experience?

Our Espresso and Americano are both strong and bold coffee drinks, but there's a small difference in their preparation process. An Espresso is made by forcing hot, pressurized water through finely-ground coffee beans. This results in a concentrated shot of espresso that has a rich flavor with a crema on top. On the other hand, an Americano is made by adding hot water to a shot or two of espresso. The result is a slightly milder, longer drink with a strong coffee flavor but less intensity compared to espresso.

If you're looking for an even stronger and bolder coffee experience, I would recommend trying our Espresso. It has more concentrated flavors, which can give you that perfect kick of caffeine and a rich taste profile. But if you prefer a slightly milder version of the strong coffee experience, our Americano will be a great choice too!

What is our most popular coffee blend and what are the main ingredients or flavor notes it includes?

Our most popular coffee blend is the "House Blend". It's a smooth, well-balanced medium roast with a rich aroma and full-bodied flavor. The main ingredients or flavor notes it includes are:
1. Arabica beans (70%): They give the coffee a smooth taste with subtle fruitiness and low acidity.
2. Robusta beans (30%): They contribute to the body, strength, and bitterness of the blend.

The combination of these two beans results in a perfect balance that appeals to a wide range of coffee lovers.

It's been quite some time since I last visited the Medical Center Hospital Cafe, located at 500 W 4th St in Odessa, Texas (79761), but it still holds a special place in my heart. I remember that fateful day when my now wife and I visited this quaint little cafe during a stay at the hospital. At first glance, everything seemed perfect: a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and a diverse menu offering all sorts of delights to satisfy your cravings. However, as we dove into our stale pastries (particularly that unforgivable rock-hard croissant), we couldn't shake off the disappointment that loomed over us like a dark cloud.

Fast forward to today, and I feel compelled to share my experience in hopes of inspiring change and growth at this establishment. It may seem unlikely for such a seemingly small issue as stale pastries to leave a lasting impression on someone's mind, but trust me when I say that one bad experience can cast a shadow over what could otherwise be an incredible dining experience.

But here's the thing - life is full of surprises, and sometimes even the most unexpected situations can turn into opportunities for growth and transformation. And so, it is with great optimism that I urge the Medical Center Hospital Cafe to take my words to heart and strive towards providing their customers with nothing but the best possible experience.

After all, every day presents us with new chances to learn from our mistakes and improve upon them. As I reflect on my time spent at this cafe long ago, I can't help but feel grateful for the lessons it taught me about resilience, perseverance, and the power of hope. So let us all join together in supporting this beloved establishment as they work towards making their patrons happy once again - because after all, life is too short not to enjoy every moment, especially when shared with those we love most.

filled with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, my heart yearned for a respite from the chaos. It was then that I stumbled upon Cafe San Blas, nestled in the heart of the city. A small sign hanging outside caught my eye, beckoning me to come inside and explore its hidden treasures. I stepped through the doors of this intimate little gem and was immediately transported to a different world. The decor was rustic yet elegant, reminiscent of an old-world café that had been lovingly preserved over time. Soft jazz music played in the background, creating a melancholic atmosphere that made me feel as though I had stepped back in time. My wife Gracie and I were seated at a small table by the window, where we could watch the world go by outside. The menu was filled with delectable options, but our eyes immediately landed on the traditional Spanish dishes that caught our fancy. We ordered a plate of paella and some tapas to start us off, and were not disappointed as they arrived at our table steaming hot and bursting with flavor. As we savored every bite, I couldn't help but feel a sense of longing for the days when such establishments were a dime a dozen. The world had become so fast-paced and impersonal that it was refreshing to find a place like Cafe San Blas, where the focus was on quality over quantity. As we finished our meal, I couldn't help but feel grateful for discovering this hidden gem in a city that was not our own. It was a reminder that there is still beauty and authenticity to be found in even the most unexpected places. In a world where everything is so transient, it was comforting to know that some things remain constant - like the warmth of good food, good company, and the nostalgia that comes with rediscovering the past. NASA's Artemis 2 moon mission: Live updates. As we sat there, sipping on our coffee and people-watching outside, I couldn't help but think about the brave astronauts who were preparing for their journey to the moon. It was a stark contrast to the cozy atmosphere of Cafe San Blas, but it was a reminder that even in the midst of chaos and uncertainty, there is always beauty and hope to be found. In this world, filled with constant change and disruption, it's reassuring to find places like Cafe San Blas - places where tradition and authenticity still hold sway. Places where one can escape from the mundane and connect with something deeper and more meaningful. It's a reminder that amidst all the chaos, there is still beauty to be found in the simplest things - like a good meal, shared with loved ones, in a place where time seems to stand still.

Rating: 5/5 reviewed: 2024-04-15 by Nathan Nunez

I can confidently say that Mango Tango is the ultimate destination for all caffeine enthusiasts out there. From their delectable mango smoothies to their lip-smacking tangerine pastries, this cozy cafe nestled on Main Street boasts a mouthwatering array of treats that will leave your taste buds begging for more! But let me tell you, getting here wasn't exactly a breeze. As fate would have it, my trusty old GPS decided to malfunction just as I was nearing Nathan Nunez's place - and before I knew it, I found myself lost in a maze of winding alleys and confusing side streets! Talk about a real adventure! But hey, at least now I know the quickest way to Mango Tango - and trust me, it's well worth the detour! So come on down and experience the magic for yourself - just be sure to pack your sense of humor and a healthy dose of patience! As for today's news, it seems like our beloved coffee house has been featured in yet another glowing review by the local paper.

Rating: 3/5 reviewed: 2024-05-06 by Josiah

While Nathan Nunez's review of Mango Tango is undoubtedly impressive, I beg to differ. Yes, the cafe does offer an array of delicious treats, but let's be real here - the journey to get there is nothing short of a nightmare. The directions provided by my GPS were downright misleading, and it took me over an hour to finally reach my destination. And what about the parking situation? Let's just say that finding a spot during peak hours is about as easy as finding a needle in a haystack!

Now, don't get me wrong - I do love a good cup of coffee, and Mango Tango certainly delivers on that front. But the prices are astronomical! A simple latte will set you back a small fortune, and the portions are decidedly on the smaller side. In other words, it's not exactly the most budget-friendly option out there. As for the actual drinks and pastries themselves - well, they're certainly tasty enough. But I've had just as good (if not better) options at much more affordable prices elsewhere in town. And let's not forget about the seating situation - it's crowded and cramped, with barely any space to move around. In short, while Nathan Nunez is undoubtedly entitled to his opinion, I think it's time for a little bit of honesty here. Mango Tango may be a beloved institution in these parts, but it's hardly the best option out there. If you're looking for top-notch coffee and pastries at a reasonable price point, I'd suggest checking out some of the other cafes in town instead. Trust me - your wallet (and your taste buds) will thank you!

As for today's news, it seems like Mango Tango is once again basking in the glow of positive press. But let's not forget about the less-than-perfect aspects of this place - the confusing directions, the hefty price tags, and the overcrowded seating arrangements. It's time for a more balanced and objective viewpoint, one that takes into account all the factors involved rather than just cherry-picking the highlights. In conclusion, while I do appreciate the charm and appeal of Mango Tango, it's hardly the ultimate destination for caffeine enthusiasts out there. Let's not let the hype blind us to the reality of the situation - this place has its pros and cons, just like any other business in town. The best course of action is to approach it with an open mind and a critical eye, rather than simply jumping on the bandwagon.

I recently made a stop at Starbucks located at 540 W 5th St. I was impressed by the bustling atmosphere and the long line of locals patiently waiting to place their orders. It became evident that this Starbucks is a go-to spot for the people of Odessa. The reasons behind its popularity are not hard to discern. For starters, Starbucks offers an extensive range of beverages and pastries that cater to diverse tastes and preferences. I tried their signature Pumpkin Spice Latte which was rich in flavor and left me craving for more. Additionally, the cozy and welcoming ambiance, coupled with free Wi-Fi, makes it an ideal spot for working professionals and students seeking a quiet place to focus on their tasks. Moreover, Starbucks' commitment to sustainability is also admirable. The coffee cups are recyclable, and they have eliminated plastic straws in favor of more eco-friendly options such as paper straws or no straws at all. This aligns with the growing environmental consciousness among the people of Odessa who value sustainability and are actively seeking out businesses that share their values. In today's news, it was reported that oil prices have been on an uptrend this week. While some members of OPEC+ have called for capacity upgrades, muted technical factors have kept the market range-bound. The lower US inventories and easing inflation have offset the weaker demand outlooks, with Brent hovering above the 100-day moving average ahead of the OPEC+ meeting. This news highlights the importance of oil in Odessa's economy, and it is reassuring to know that even amidst market volatility, businesses like Starbucks continue to thrive and provide a stable platform for local communities. As I left the café, I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for the people of Odessa who have chosen to frequent Starbucks. Their loyalty speaks volumes about the quality of service and products offered by this coffeehouse chain. As a visitor, I would highly recommend Starbucks at 540 W 5th St to anyone seeking a cozy and welcoming atmosphere with an eco-friendly touch.

While Norah's review of Starbucks located at 540 W 5th St in Odessa was overwhelmingly positive, I would like to offer a contrasting perspective. Firstly, while it is true that Starbucks offers an extensive range of beverages and pastries, the prices can be quite steep for some customers. As someone who prefers simple coffee, I find myself paying a premium for drinks that are not significantly different from what I could get elsewhere. Additionally, the portion sizes are relatively small which may leave some customers feeling underwhelmed or overcharged. Secondly, while the cozy and welcoming ambiance is undoubtedly appealing, I have noticed that the seating area can be quite crowded during peak hours. This makes it challenging to find a spot to sit with your laptop or study materials, especially if you're not there early enough. Moreover, the noise level in the café can sometimes be quite high which may not be conducive for work or concentration. Thirdly, while Starbucks' commitment to sustainability is commendable, it would be great to see more action taken towards reducing waste beyond just eliminating plastic straws. For instance, some customers have raised concerns about the excessive use of paper cups and napkins, which can contribute significantly to landfill waste. It would be interesting to see if Starbucks has any plans to address this issue in the future. In summary, while Norah's review highlights many positive aspects of Starbucks at 540 W 5th St, I believe that it is essential to offer a balanced perspective that takes into account some of the potential drawbacks and areas for improvement. Nonetheless, I would still recommend Starbucks as a great spot to enjoy a cozy atmosphere with some delicious drinks and pastries, especially if you're willing to pay a premium for convenience and quality.

As a local resident and small business owner here in Odessa, I have been in search of the perfect spot to unwind after a long day at work. And let me tell you, folks, I have finally found my paradise in the form of Peaches & Beaches Espresso Dos! Nestled on Andrews Highway, just a stone's throw away from the bustling downtown district, this cozy little cafe is an oasis of calm and charm. It was a particularly scorching day when my husband Joel and I decided to pop in for a much-needed break. We had been trudging through the city, battling against the sweltering heat that seemed to be suffocating us with its intensity. Our spirits were low, our water bottles empty, and our feet were weary from the endless concrete jungle. But as soon as we stepped into Peaches & Beaches, all of our worries melted away like a snowflake in the sun. The interior was a feast for the eyes - a symphony of pastel hues, whimsical artwork, and eclectic furnishings that exuded a sense of warmth and comfort. The walls were lined with shelves bursting with vintage books, old records, and quirky trinkets that added to the bohemian vibe. The air was thick with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee beans, mingling with the soft hum of chatter and laughter. We ordered a couple of iced lattes and settled into a cozy little corner, surrounded by plush pillows and mismatched chairs. As we sipped our drinks, gazing out of the large windows that overlooked the verdant greenery outside, we couldn't help but feel grateful for this little slice of paradise in the heart of the city. It was as if time had come to a standstill here, allowing us to forget about the chaos and rush of everyday life, even if just for a little while. Peaches & Beaches Espresso Dos is more than just a coffee shop - it's an experience. A place where creativity and community converge, fostering a sense of belonging and connection that is hard to find elsewhere. As we left, the sun was beginning to set, painting the sky in a riot of orange and pink hues. We promised ourselves that we would return soon, for another dose of tranquility and inspiration, in this little slice of heaven nestled on Andrews Highway. As I reflect on today's news, I can't help but feel grateful for the simple pleasures in life - like a good cup of coffee and a peaceful space to unwind in. In these turbulent times, it's easy to get caught up in negativity and despair, but places like Peaches & Beaches serve as a gentle reminder that beauty, kindness, and hope are still very much alive and well, if we only take the time to seek them out.

Peaches & Beaches Espresso Dos might be the talk of the town in Odessa, but I have to say, my recent experience there was less than perfect. While Christopher raves about the charming atmosphere and top-notch drinks, I found the opposite to be true. The decor was tacky at best, with cheap plastic plants and neon signs that clashed horribly with the pastel walls. And the coffee itself? Bland and overpriced, in my opinion. Perhaps I simply visited on an off day or maybe my expectations were too high, but I couldn't shake the feeling that this place was trying too hard to be quirky and unique. In fact, the whole "community" aspect of Peaches & Beaches seemed forced and insincere to me. It felt like a marketing ploy rather than an organic byproduct of genuine connection and interaction. So while I do appreciate the sentiment behind Christopher's review, I have to say that my own experience was less than stellar. Maybe it's time for Peaches & Beaches to take a step back from all the hype and focus on delivering consistently great products and services rather than relying solely on their reputation. Or maybe they should just stick to selling vintage books and trinkets, because frankly, I'd rather spend my money on those than overpriced coffee and fake community vibes.

Rating: 3/5 reviewed: 2024-07-03 by Jonathan Hawkins

While Christopher's review of Peaches & Beaches Espresso Dos is undeniably heartfelt and inspiring, I can't help but wonder if his enthusiasm for this cozy little cafe is a bit excessive. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against small businesses or quirky interiors - in fact, I quite enjoy discovering hidden gems like Peaches & Beaches. But I also believe that it's important to maintain a critical perspective and consider the bigger picture. For starters, I would argue that Christopher's description of this place as "an oasis of calm and charm" is a bit of an exaggeration. While it's true that the interior is cozy and unique, it's not exactly a tranquil paradise in the middle of a bustling city. Andrews Highway is a busy thoroughfare with plenty of traffic and noise, and I can't imagine that the cafe would be entirely shielded from the outside world. Moreover, while Christopher praises Peaches & Beaches for its "creativity and community," I'm not sure if these qualities are necessarily unique or noteworthy. After all, there are countless coffee shops and cafes out there that strive to provide a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. What makes Peaches & Beaches any different from the rest?

I think it's also worth mentioning that Christopher doesn't provide much detail about the actual coffee and food offerings at Peaches & Beaches. He merely describes their drinks as "freshly brewed" and "delicious," without going into more specifics. Are they using high-quality beans? Is the espresso properly extracted? Are the pastries baked in-house or are they store-bought? These are all important factors that could affect the overall experience at a coffee shop, and I would have appreciated some more information from Christopher on this front. In short, while I can certainly appreciate Christopher's enthusiasm for Peaches & Beaches Espresso Dos, I would argue that his review is a bit too glowing and lacks some objectivity. As someone who values honesty and critical thinking, I prefer to approach these kinds of reviews with a more skeptical and nuanced perspective. While Peaches & Beaches may be a pleasant and unique place to hang out, it's not necessarily the best or most exceptional coffee shop in town - and that's something that should be taken into consideration when making recommendations to others. As I reflect on today's news, I also think about the broader social and political implications of reviews like Christopher's. In a world that is increasingly polarized and partisan, it's more important than ever to maintain a sense of skepticism and critical thinking in our decision-making processes. We shouldn't blindly follow the crowd or accept everything we read at face value - rather, we should strive to evaluate evidence and arguments on their own merits, regardless of how popular or persuasive they may be. In that spirit, I would encourage Christopher (and all readers of this review) to approach future reviews with a more critical and nuanced perspective, taking into account both the positive and negative aspects of each place or experience. By doing so, we can help promote a more informed and discerning consumer base, who are better equipped to make wise choices and avoid falling prey to hype and exaggeration.

surrounded by the bustling energy of Odessa's vibrant streets, I can't help but wonder what draws people back to this place time and time again. It's not just the delicious Mexican cuisine or the cozy atmosphere that keeps them coming back - it's something deeper, something more intangible. Perhaps it's the sense of community that permeates every corner of Rosa's. I've overheard conversations in Spanish and English, punctuated by laughter and lively debate, as groups of friends catch up over plates of enchiladas and margaritas. It's clear that this is a place where people feel at home, where they can let their guard down and be themselves. I've also noticed the way Harley Foley - a local musician I met earlier today - interacts with the staff and patrons here. He's a regular, it seems, and everyone greets him with warmth and respect. It's clear that he feels a sense of kinship with this place and its people, and that's what makes Rosa's special. As for my own experience here, I can say that the food is exceptional. The tortillas are made fresh to order, and the guacamole is creamy and flavorful. The service is friendly but not overbearing - a nice balance between efficiency and hospitality. And the prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ingredients and preparation. But what really sets Rosa's apart from other cafes and restaurants in Odessa is its commitment to community. Whether it's through hosting live music events or supporting local charities, this place seems to understand that its success is tied up with the well-being of the people who call this city home. In an age when despair and hopelessness seem all too common, it's heartening to see a business that prioritizes compassion and connection over profit and prestige. And speaking of today's news, I can't help but think about the recent events in Ukraine. The ongoing conflict between Russia and its neighbors has left many people feeling uncertain and afraid. But here at Rosa's, at least, there's a sense that we can band together and find some measure of peace and solace. It's a small oasis in a world that sometimes feels overwhelmingly bleak - but it's a start. As I finish my meal and prepare to leave, I can't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience this place and its people. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Rosa's Café & Tortilla Factory is a must-visit destination in Odessa - a shining example of what community can look like at its best.
